Previously our school programs were NESA accredited for NSW educators, including Mindful Champion Training, Introduction to Mindfulness kick-offs, our Online Learning Modules, and our Working with the Curriculum and Special Topic online webinars.
On November 30, 2020 NESA announced the completion of an internal review into accredited courses and course providers. As a direct result of this review, all previously accredited NESA providers (including Smiling Mind) have been de-registered, effective immediately.
This year, we will begin the process of re-accreditation as soon as we are able to and are given all the information by the NSW Education Standards Authority.
In the meantime, educators are able to reference hours spent completing Smiling Mind courses as teacher PD hours or teacher-identified PD hours. To assist you in self-recording these hours, our modules address standards 4.4.2 and 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
